02 Data We Collect
Contact and enquiry data. When you email us, book a Money Check,
message us on WhatsApp or use a contact form: your name, email address, phone number,
and the content of your message.
Service data. When you engage a service, the information you choose
to share in questionnaires and sessions — which may include general financial
information such as account types, approximate balances, income sources, insurance
policies, destination country and move timeline. We ask only for what the service
requires. We never request account passwords or login credentials, and we do not
access your financial accounts.
Purchase data. When you buy a digital product: your name, email,
billing details and order history. Card payments are processed by our payment
providers; we do not receive or store full card numbers.
Newsletter data. Your email address and subscription preferences if
you join our mailing list.
Technical data. When you visit the site: IP address, browser type,
device information, pages viewed and referring pages — collected via cookies
and similar technologies, subject to your consent choices (see our
Cookie Policy).
03 The Calculator & Free Tools
The Moving-Abroad Financial Calculator runs entirely in your browser. The figures you
enter (spending, income, savings) are not transmitted to us, stored by us, or shared
with anyone — they exist only on your device while the page is open. If you
choose to email your results to us, only the summary contained in that email reaches
us, like any other enquiry.
04 How We Use Your Data
We use personal data to: respond to enquiries and provide the services and products
you request; prepare service deliverables; process payments and deliver purchases;
send the newsletter and product updates you've signed up for; coordinate professional
introductions you've asked for; improve our website and content; meet legal,
accounting and regulatory obligations; and establish or defend legal claims. We do
not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
05 Legal Bases (GDPR)
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on:
contract — to deliver services and products you've requested;
consent — for the newsletter, non-essential cookies, and
sharing your details with professionals you ask us to introduce;
legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries, secure and
improve our website, and administer our business, balanced against your rights; and
legal obligation — for tax, accounting and compliance records.
You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
06 Who We Share Data With
Professionals you ask us to introduce. With your consent, we share
the details needed for an introduction (typically your name, contact details and a
summary of your needs) with the vetted professional. They process your data under
their own privacy policies.
Service providers. Hosting, email, scheduling, payment processing,
analytics and similar providers who process data on our behalf under data processing
agreements.
Group brands. Financial Finest, Quantum Jetset, eTaxNexus and MCEL
are brands of the same company. If you ask us to coordinate across brands (for
example, tax help via eTaxNexus), the relevant information is shared internally for
that purpose only.
Legal requirements. Where required by law, court order or to protect
our legal rights. We never sell personal data.
07 International Transfers
We are based in Ireland and primarily store data within the European Economic Area.
Some service providers may process data in other countries, including the United
States. Where data leaves the EEA, we use appropriate safeguards such as European
Commission adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
08 How Long We Keep Data
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above: enquiry
correspondence typically up to 24 months after last contact; client service records
for up to 7 years to meet legal and accounting obligations; purchase records for the
period required by tax law; newsletter data until you unsubscribe. When data is no
longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
09 How We Protect Data
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures: encrypted connections
(HTTPS), access controls, reputable EU-based hosting, minimal data collection by
design, and staff access limited to what is necessary. No method of transmission or
storage is 100% secure, but we treat your financial information with the seriousness
it deserves — and the less we collect, the less can ever be at risk. This is
one reason we never ask for account credentials.
10 Your Rights
Where GDPR applies, you have the right to: access your personal data; correct
inaccurate data; request deletion; restrict or object to processing; data
portability; and withdraw consent. To exercise any right, email
[email protected] — we
respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the
Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) or your local supervisory
authority.
11 US Visitors
Many of our readers and clients are US persons. Depending on your state of residence,
you may have rights under state privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy
Act), including rights to know, delete and correct personal information and to opt
out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for
cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise any applicable state privacy
right, contact [email protected].
12 Children
This website and our services are directed at adults. We do not knowingly collect
personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal
data, contact us and we will delete it.
13 Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our
Cookie Policy. Non-essential cookies are used only with
your consent, which you can change at any time via the cookie preferences link on
this website.
14 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date
shows the current version, and material changes will be signposted on this website.
