01 What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They
help websites function properly, remember your preferences, and understand how
visitors use the site. Similar technologies (local storage, pixels, tags) work in
comparable ways; we refer to them all as “cookies” in this policy.
02 How We Use Cookies
We use cookies to keep the website secure and functioning, to remember your cookie
consent choices, and — only with your consent — to understand how the
site is used so we can improve it. We keep our cookie use deliberately light. Notably,
our free Moving-Abroad Financial Calculator does not use cookies at all: the figures
you enter stay in your browser and are never transmitted or stored.
03 Types of Cookies We Use
Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the website to function
— security, load balancing, and remembering your cookie preferences. These do
not require consent and cannot be switched off through our banner.
Preference cookies. Remember choices you make (such as consent
settings) so you don't have to re-enter them on each visit.
Statistics cookies. Help us understand how visitors use the site
— which pages are read, how people arrive, and where they get stuck — in
aggregate form. Used only with your consent.
Marketing cookies. We currently keep marketing cookies to a minimum.
If used (for example, to measure whether our own content reaches the right audience),
they are set only with your explicit consent and are listed in the consent banner.
04 Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services we use on the site — for example,
analytics providers, embedded scheduling tools or video players. These third parties
process data under their own privacy policies. The consent banner lists the specific
third-party services active on this site at any time, and no third-party cookie that
requires consent is set before you give it.
05 Your Consent
On your first visit, our cookie banner asks for your consent before any non-essential
cookies are set. You can accept all, reject all, or customise by category. Your
choice is remembered for future visits, and you can change it at any time (see
section 6). Declining non-essential cookies does not affect your ability to use the
website.
06 Managing & Deleting Cookies
You can revisit your choices via the cookie preferences link in the website footer or
the cookie banner. You can also control cookies through your browser settings —
blocking or deleting some or all cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary
cookies may affect how the website functions. Guidance for common browsers is
available in each browser's help pages (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge).
07 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our cookie use or the law changes. The “Last
updated” date shows the current version. Material changes will be reflected in
the consent banner, which will re-request consent where required.
